Swarming

Images and photos

Ask Swarm for an image as naturally as you ask for code. Generate one deliberate result, explore several themed alternatives, then keep refining the exact source you selected.

Set up images

Choose an authenticated image model first.

Open Desktop Settings and choose your default image model in the Media or Images settings surface. Availability, supported controls, and billing depend on the provider model connected to your account.

Image generation is provider-billed. Swarm creates one billed image for each generation request or each item in an image Iteration Swarm.

Generate

Describe the subject, purpose, and constraints.

  • State what the image is for: a campaign, presentation, header, product concept, or another concrete use.
  • Describe the subject, composition, setting, lighting, visual language, and details to exclude.
  • Ask for a portable aspect ratio, output dimensions, or resolution tier only when the target requires it.
  • Use standard targets such as a widescreen or portrait composition when a known output format matters.
Example

“Create a cinematic 16:9 product photo of a compact workstation on a quiet desk at dusk. Use soft practical lighting, leave negative space on the left for a headline, and exclude people, logos, and text.”

Create alternatives

Use an image Iteration Swarm for intentional variety.

Give Swarm one approved brief and a small set of useful themes. Router independently turns each brief-and-theme pair into a complete image prompt, then sends it directly to your configured image model. These generations do not create one child agent session per image.

Theme 01

Minimal

Quiet composition, restrained palette, and deliberate negative space.

Theme 02

Editorial

Story-led framing, expressive light, and a stronger sense of place.

Theme 03

Product

Clear subject hierarchy, precise materials, and practical campaign usability.

Review

Desktop gallery

Compare the ready managed variants and select the exact result you want to continue.

Remix

Describe only what should change.

Select a ready image in Desktop and ask Swarm to remix it. Swarm carries the exact source reference and lineage into each edit, so the selected image, rather than an approximate re-prompt, remains the authority.

Preserve

Lock the source

Keep the subject, camera angle, composition, palette, or approved product details.

Change

Name the edit

Ask for a new crop, lighting shift, background treatment, or other bounded change.

Exclude

Prevent drift

Block unwanted text, extra objects, new claims, people, logos, or changes to locked details.

Example remix

“Use this exact image. Preserve the workstation, desk, camera angle, and dusk lighting. Change only the crop to 3:2 and add slightly more negative space on the left. Do not add text or new objects.”
